FIPx Kenya

A Sankalp Fringe Event
21 February 2019, Nairobi

What is FIPx?

Why this event?

Finding Impact Kenya (FIPx Kenya) is being launched to serve up valuable content for a local audience of social entrepreneurs. It will be run by social entrepreneurs, for social entrepreneurs, upholding values of diversity, respect and honesty, and creating a local platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration.

The first event will be in Nairobi on 21st February. It will be an opportunity for up to 30 social entrepreneurs to make new connections and share stories of their start-up challenges. It will be a forum for knowledge sharing and collaboration. Using insights from this meeting, we will interview Kenyan subject matter experts who can share their experience and tactics on how they overcame these challenges. Content will be shared via blogs, vlogs, podcasts, and more.

This is a free fringe event to the Sankalp Forum, which is one of the region’s leading events on social entrepreneurship and impact investing.

Who's facilitating the event?

Andy Narracott

Finding Impact was founded by Andy as a global online platform sharing practical tips and resources for social entrepreneurs in emerging markets. Andy recognised the gap in relevant, localised content when he took a sanitation social enterprise in Ghana from idea to growth stage. He started a community enterprise in India and lived in Kenya for 5 years while growing a portfolio of impact companies and programmes. Since February 2016, he has interviewed over 90 subject matter experts on his podcast with an unrelenting thirst for the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of building an impactful business.

Dama Sathianathan

Dama leads communications and events at Bethnal Green Ventures in the UK and manages the Tech for Good meetups and platform. She previously worked for international NGOs using digital storytelling and data for good.

The venue will be in the Kilimani area Nairobi. We will share details of the event a few days before it begins.
